"צה"ל ומשרד הביטחון אינם מספקים נתונים על היקף השטחים הציבוריים שבידם. נתונים אלה אפשר ללמוד מדו"ח הועדה לבחינת הכפר בשנות ה-2000, שפרסם משרד החקלאות ב-1988. לפי הדו"ח 48% מהשטחים הציבוריים בישראל הם שטחי אימונים ומחנות צבא. אליהם יש להוסיף שטחים אזרחיים שבהם אפשר לעשות שימוש צבאי בשעת חירום..."

פרסום במרחב הציבורי – נלחמים בטלוויזיות הענק!

ביום שני ה-14.6 הגשנו באמצעות עו"ד רפאל אלגזי עתירה מנהלית נגד עיריית תל אביב יפו, בדרישה לבטל את הרשיונות להצבת טלוויזיות הפרסום הענקיות המוצבות בעיר. השלטים הבלתי חוקיים, מלבד היותם סכנה בטיחותית, חודרים לחיינו ומשתלטים על המרחב הציבורי.

כבר באותו יום פורסמה במסכי הטלוויזיה בכל העיר הסיסמא: "עמותת פעולה ירוקה ישר כוח – כוונותיכם צודקות". מיהו המפרסם האלמוני? יתכן שמדובר על החברה המפעילה את המסכים "סטריט טי.וי" שהופתעה מכמות התגובות הזועמות של אזרחים וניסתה לשדר אכפתיות.

תערוכה פיראטית בקו 25 (נויה)

התערוכה הפיראטית תהיה גם מחר,
אבל 25 כבר עבר?

יום רביעי בלילה. אי שם בדרום תל אביב. קבוצה מצומצמת ואיכותית של רבי-פעילים מתכנסת בינות לצללים ועושה כתמיד, רעש רב מדי. פוסטרים בגודל בלתי סביר של מטר שישים על מטר עשרים נדחפים לתאי מטען, צלם הוידאו מביים עוד שוט דרמטי, ואנחנו כבר בדרך לסמינר הקיבוצים.

את הפוסטר הראשון, בו מופיע פצוע מכדור פלדה מצופה גומי מהפגנה בשטחים, תלינו לטובת הסטודנטים של תל אביב. שניה אחרי שהורדנו בחזרה את מכסה הפלסטיק שיגן על הפוסטר שלנו לפחות בארבעת הימים הקרובים, חלפה על פנינו ניידת. מול אחת התחנות באבן גבירול ישן בדלת פתוחה נהג מונית. הצלחנו להחליף את הפוסטר שמולו בלי שהוא הניד עפעף. כשהוא יתעורר, הוא יגלה שבמקום הדוגמנית החטובה ששכנה שם קודם, עכשיו סגור בתוך קופסת הפלסטיק שבמרכז התחנה פוסטר שמתאר את החיים בגיהינום עלי אדמות.

למחרת היום טיילתי לאורך קו 25. מהתחנה ברחוב קינג ג'ורג' 91 הציץ אלי נאזי שלעבי, האיש והאגדה ממסחה. גם הוא זכה להתנוסס מעל פוסטר. מעט אחריו נתקלתי בשתי גברות התוהות על קנקנו של פוסטר העוסק בדימוי גוף נשי ואנורקסיה.
אז בוקר טוב תל אביב. מהיום לא עוד פרסומות. לפחות פחות. בתחנות אוטובוס.

פעילות נוער

מסע פורום תנועות הנוער לאיכות הסביבה

בין ה-29.7 ל-3.8 פורום תנועות הנוער לאיכות סביבה יקיים מסע "בין סביבה לחברה" שמיועד לבני נוער שבשנה הבאה יהיו ש"שים וחל"תים בתנועות הנוער. המסע יתחיל ב"קרן הכרמל" שליד יקנעם, יעבור דרך יקנעם, נתיב קטע 18 של "כביש חוצה ישראל", נחל חדרה, חדרה עצמה, חופי חדרה וקיסריה ויסתיים בסוללת החול בין קיסריה וג'סר א-זרקא.
במהלך המסע יעברו המשתתפים סדנאות ופעולות בנושאים כמו אדם וטבע, תרבות הצריכה, תחבורה, חקלאות, זיהומי מים ואויר, אקולוגיה אורבנית, הפרטת המרחב הציבורי ועוד רבים. ביום האחרון של המסע נתכנן את פעולותיו העתידיות של הפורום תוך תקווה שהמשתתפים מתנועות הנוער ייקחו חלק בו בשנת הפעילות הבאה.

    עדכון: מאהל המחאה של כביש חוצה ישראל.

    אוהל המאבק נגד כביש חוצב ישראל עלה לקרקע. אירוע הפתיחה החגיגי והמגניב נערך ביום שלישי ה-1.6.04. פעילים המעונינים לעזור באיוש האוהל בחודש הראשון,צרו קשר עם הדס: 064-739382. בואו לאייש את האוהל, בואו להזדהות, בואו לפעול!

    כביש חוצה ישראל הוא כביש אורך ארצי המיועד להיסלל מדרומית לבאר-שבע ועד לגליל ואשר יכלול גם שמונה כבישי רוחב, בעלות של כ20- מיליארד ש"ח.
    חלקו המרכזי של הכביש, 90 הק"מ בין גדרה לחדרה, כבר נפתחו לתנועה, בין גדרה לצומת עירון (חדרה). הכביש מופעל ככביש אגרה, ועלות הנסיעה בו, שאינה זולה, גורמת למעטים מאד להשתמש בו.

    המאבק העכשוי ביותר הנוגע לכביש הוא סביב סלילת הקטע הצפוני שלו, מצפון לכביש ואדי ערה, באיזור רמות מנשה. קטע כביש זה , הידוע בכינויו "קטע 18", סלילתו של קטע זה, תשנה לחלוטין את אופיו הכפרי- חקלאי של האיזור, ואל הישובים הקיימים יצטרפו "פרוורי המרכז" החדשים שיזללו כל חלקת אדמה. כלכלנים ותחבורנים ידועים (עזרא סדן, צלי פולישוק ועוד) הוכיחו שסלילת הכביש כתיכנונו בקטע 18 אינה נותנת מענה תחבורתי יעיל ואינה עומדת במבחני כלכלה פשוטים. כמו כן, אמור הכביש לעבור בחלקת ארץ בראשיתית ולהרוס באופן בלתי הפיך את השטח הפתוח הטבעי הגדול ביותר במרכז הארץ, אליו מגיעים אלפי מטיילים מדי סופשבוע. תושבי האיזור, יחד עם מגמה ירוקה, התנועה לעצירת חוצה ישראל ופעילים נוספים, פועלים בימים אלו למניעת סלילת הקטע כפי שהוא מתוכנן, ולהעברתו לסלילה במנהרה.

    ההתנגדות העיקרית לכביש נובעת מהעובדה שסלילתו באה במקום ועל חשבון סלילת תשתית רכבות ראויה, והוא לא נותן פיתרון למצוקת הפקקים.
    מערכת כבישים מזהמת פי 20 מרכבת, עלות אחזקתה פי 15, היא צורכת פי 13 שטחי קרקע, וגורמת לפי 100 הרוגים בתאונות מאשר רכבת.
    הכביש משמש מיעוט מהאוכלוסייה אולם ימומן ע"י כולם, עקב הערבויות הכספיות שנתנה המדינה ליזם שהשקיע בסלילתו.סלילתו מגדילה את הפער החברתי ומקטינה את סיכויי פיתוח הפריפריה.
    לפי מומחים מהארץ והעולם, כביש חוצה ישראל עלול לזהם באופן בלתי-הפיך את אקוויפר ההר - מקור המים העיקרי באזור ראש-העין, המספק מי שתיה עבור כשניים וחצי מיליון תושבים

    Militarism and Environment Campaign

    “The IDF and the Ministry of Defence are not providing details on the amount of public areas being held by them. These details can be learned from the Village Examination Committee of the 2000s’ report, which was published by the Ministry of Agriculture in 1988. According to the report, 48% from the public areas in Israel belongs to the military, either for trainings or simply for bases. To this percentage one may add the civilian areas which are allowed to be used in emergency cases . . .” (‘We are all servants of the Military’, Daniel Efrati, Ha’arets 20.4.03)

    Green Actions’ activists are welcomed to a study day, which will present the environmental implications of the military activity in Israel. We will meet on Friday – July the 7th, in ‘Reshef’ Seminarion of Herzliyya, from 10.00 a.m.

    Advertising in the public domain – Fighting against the Mega TV !

    On Monday – June the 16th, with the help of the lawyer Refa’el Elgazi, we have appealed against Tel Aviv-Jaffa municipality, demanding to eliminate the licenses allowing stationing Mega Advertisements TVs. These illegal signs, besides the fact that they are dangerous, are intruding our lives and taking over our public space.

    On this very day, the slogan “Green Action, keep up – your intentions are justified” has been published on the Mega TV screens all over the city. Who is the John Doe advertiser? It is possible that it was the company that operates “Street TV” screens, trying to be compassionate after being surprised by the huge amount of angry responses.

    An illegal exhibition in line number 25 (Noya)

    Wednesday night. Somewhere in south Tel Aviv. A small, unified group of activists is gathering in the middle of the night, making too much sound. Some unreasonable 1.60 X 1.20 posters are being shoved into the baggage, the video man is taking another dramatic shot, and we’re on our way to “Seminar Hakibutzim”.

    The first poster, in which an injured man from a steel-bullet with a rubber wrapping in the Left Wing protest, we hanged in favour of the Tel Avivs’ students. One second only after pulling down the plastic cover so our poster will survive in the next 4 days, a police car crossed upon us. In front of one of the Iven Gevirols’ bus stops, a taxi driver was sleeping with his door open. We succeeded to change the poster in front of him without him even blinking. When he wakes up, he will discover that instead of the shaped model who was standing there before, the living-hell is now closed in a plastic box, in the middle of the bus-stop.

    In the day after, I walked through the line of number 25. From the stop on 91st King-George St, The man and the legend from Mas’ha himself - Nazi Shal’abi glanced right at me. He was one of the new models of hell as well. A bit after him I ran into 2 ladies, wondering upon a poster dealing with body image and anorexia.
    Good morning Tel Aviv. No more advertisements from now on; or at least a bit less, in the bus stops.

    The youth groups forum travel for the environment

    From July the 29th to August the 3rd, the Youth Group Forum for the Environment will hold a journey titled “Between Environment and Society” which is intended for the next year’s civil service volunteers in the youth groups. The journey will begin in “Keren HaCarmel” near Yoqne’am, will pass through Yoqne’am, the route of “Keta 18” in the Cross-Israel highway, Hadera river, Hadera itself, Hadera and Qesariyya beaches and will end at the dunes between Qessariyya and Jaser a-zarka. During the journey, the participants will go through trainings and activities on subjects such as: Man and Nature, Consumerism culture, transportation, agriculture, air and water pollution, urban ecology, privatization of the public space and many others. On the last day of the journey we will be planning the future activities of the forum, hoping the participants from the youth groups will take part in it next year.

    Civil Service Project co-ordinator

    Green Action For Environmental-Social Change is seeking a coordinator for an exclusive project which provides an alternative for military service (For further details on the Civil Service project in Green Action : http://www.greenaction.org.il/hoveretsherut.doc). Training and experience with youth and teens is required, as well as the ability to motivate and counsel activist groups, and experience in creating educational layouts on environmental matters.

    Beginning of work : overlap term begins in mid August 04’, beginning of project is September 04’.
    Job requirements
  • Personal counseling of any person in the 5-people-group of Civil Service
  • Promotion and counseling of all the educational activities in the youth project: establishing youth groups, maintaining and promoting the education center, partial co-ordination of the youth groups for the environment forum.
  • Coordinating young volunteers
  • Coordinating weekly volunteering day in NGOs’ and accompanying the volunteers at each stage
  • Planning and executing educational programs for the Civil Service team and the activists
  • Recruiting applicants and starting the screening and training process for the 2005-2006 activity year.

    Update : Cross-Israel Highways’ protest camp

    Cross-Israel-Highway protest camp has begun. The festive opening event was on Tuesday – June the 1st, 2004. Activists who would like to help manning the camp in the first month, are welcomed to contact Hadas ; 064-739 382.

    Cross-Israel-Highway is a road going from beneath Be’er Sheva up until the Galil, and will include 8 width roads, costing around 20 milliards Shekels.
    The central section of the road, which is the 90km between Gedera and Hadera, has been open to transportation between Gedera to Iron intersection (Hadera). Since it is a toll-road and isn’t cheap at all, not many are actually using it.

    The current battle is about the northern part of the road which goes northern to Vadi-Ara road in the area of Ramot Menashe. This pavement of this section, which answers the name of “Section 18”, will change completely the country-agricultural charcter of this area. As well, to the current villages will join the new “central suburbs” which will take every piece of land. Well known economists and transportation specialists (like Ezra Sadan and Zteli Polishuk etc..) have proved that the pavement of the road as planned in Section 18 will not be a solution for a smarter transportation., as it wont stand in simple economic tests.
    As well, the road is planned to pass through a very young and unique area and therefore, destroy irreversibly the most natural open piece of land in the center of Israel, to which thousands of tourists come every weekend. The areas’ inhabitants together with “Green Course”, “The movement to stop Cross-Israel-Highway” and further activists are fighting, these days, to prevent the pavement of this section as its planned now and try to make it as a tunnel instead.
    The main resistance to the road comes from the fact that its pavement comes over the construction of railway infrastructure, and it doesn’t provide any solution to the traffic jams problem.
    A road system pollutes 20 times more, its maintenance costs 15 times more, it requires 13 times more land areas and causes 100 times more death cases than a train. The road services a small amount of the population, but will be financed by all of us, due to the financial guarantees the state gave its investor to pave to. Nevertheless, its pavement increases the social gap and decreases the chances of the periphery to develop.
    According to specialists from Israel and the rest of the world, Cross-Israel-Highway may pollute irreversibly the Mountain Aquifer – the main water source in the area of Rosh Ha’ain and which supplies drinking water for 2.5 million inhabitants.
