בימים אלו נידונה בבית המשפט בתל אביב עתירה מנהלית שהגשנו בנושא טלוויזיות הענק, עתירה זו הוגשה בהתנדבות על ידי עו"ד רפאל אלגזי. על מנת להצליח לשכנע את בית המשפט בכך שהשלטים אכן מהווים מפגע סביבתי ובטיחותי יש צורך להגיש חוות דעת של מומחה לענייני תחבורה. אם את/ה בעצמך מומחה או מכיר/ה מישהו שיכול לעזור, נשמח אם תפנו אלינו בטלפון או בדוא"ל.
הסביבה: מקורבן של המלחמה לסיכוי של שלום (ליעד אורתר)
שתי התפתחויות עיקריות הובילו במאה ה-20 לעלייה בהתעניינות העולמית בהשפעות הסביבתיות של מלחמות ההתעצמות של התפישה הסביבתית והתפתחות הטכנולוגיה הצבאית. עליית קרנה של התפיסה הסביבתית נבעה עקב ההישנות והחשיפה הציבורית של קטסטרופות סביבתיות. הפיתוח התעשייתי הוביל לניצול הולך וגובר של הביוספרה, לעלייה משמעותית בזיהום האוויר, מינים החלו להעלם, היערות הלכו והצטמצמו ועוד ועוד. התפתחות הטכנולוגיה בהם השתמשו הצבאות היה המרכיב השני שגרם לעלייה בתשומת הלב העולמית בנושא הסביבתי בהקשר המלחמתי שלו. הנשקים החדשים ובהם הנשקים הכימיים, הביולוגיים ומאוחר יותר הנשק הגרעיני הציבו סוג חדש של איום בפני הסביבה ובני האדם, איום אשר לא נודע כמותו. בשיאה של המלחמה הקרה עסקו מדענים רבים בסוגיית 'החורף הגרעיני' שהיא אותה תקופה קשה אשר תיווצר על פני כדור הארץ בעקבות התפוצצויות גרעיניות רחבות היקף בשני הצדדים.

לא נותנים לחתול לשמור על השמנת – כנס קיסריה 2004
ב-7-8 ליולי (רביעי-חמישי הבאים) מתקיים בירושלים הבירה כנס קיסריה. לכבוד האירוע, המייצג את הקשר הבל-ינתק בין הון ושלטון בישראל, ושממנו יוצא הלך הרוח המשפיע על המדיניות הכלכלית לשנת התקציב הקרובה.

אתר של הגדה השמאלית
פעולה ירוקה מתכוונת לצעוד עם ההפגנה משוק מחנה-יהודה לבית ראש הממשלה, בטנדר מקושט, רועש וצבעוני (כן, ברסלבי בהחלט) תחת המסר (הזכות לשינויים שמורה) "לא נותנים לחתול לשמור על השמנת. ינותק הקשר בין הון ושלטון", ומסרים אחרים הקוראים לדמוקרטיזציה של הכלכלה, ולהשתתפות שווה של כל הקבוצות (גם הנפגעות מהמדיניות הכלכלית) בתהליך קבלת ההחלטות.
רוצים להשתתף בהכנות?? - ביום ראשון ה-4 ליולי, החל מ-16:00, וביום שני החל מ-10:00, נכין במשרדי פעולה ירוקה (מסילת וולפסון 8, פלורנטין תל-אביב), שלטים, באנרים, רעשנים ודברים מושכי תשומת-לב אחרים. הנאה מובטחת!

Advertising in the Public Domain: Sign the Petition to Remove the Electronic Billboards!
…”Unlike other media formats that can be turned off, the electronic billboards leave us no chois: the operating companies, backed by the city council, force us to absorb redundant advertisments – contents that encourage us to take part of the wasteful consumerist culture. These signs are also a great security hazars which endangers people’s lives, as they cause a distraction for the drivers.”

Our court appeal against the electronic billboards, submitted voluntarily by Rafael Algazi, is currently being discussed in a court in Tel Aviv. In order to convinve the court that the billboards truly are an environmental and a security hazard we need the opinion of a traffic specialist. If you are a traffic specialist or know someone that can help, please contact us by phone or email.

Keysaria Convention 2004
On July 7-8 (Wednesday and Thursday) the Keysaria Convention will be held in Jerusalem. Several protests are planned against the convention, which represents the close link between high-powered businessmen and the government, and which influences the economical policy of the upcoming budget year. You can look at the planned protests in the “Left Bank’s” website.
Green Action is planning to march along with the parade from “Mahne Yehuda” Market to the Prime Minister’s house, in a decorated truck. With signs, banners and more.
Want to help the preperations? On Sunday, July 4th, from 16:00 and in Monday from 10:00, we will make signs, banners, noise-makers and other attention-grabbers in Green Action’s office (8 Mesilat Volfson St. Tel Aviv). Your enjoynment is guaranteed!

Civil Service Project co-ordinator
Green Action For Environmental-Social Change is seeking a coordinator for an exclusive project which provides an alternative for military service (For further details on the Civil Service project in Green Action : http://www.greenaction.org.il/hoveretsherut.doc). Training and experience with youth and teens is required, as well as the ability to motivate and counsel activist groups, and experience in creating educational layouts on environmental matters.
Beginning of work : overlap term begins in mid August 04’, beginning of project is September 04’.
Job requirements
Personal counseling of any person in the 5-people-group of Civil Service
Promotion and counseling of all the educational activities in the youth project: establishing youth groups, maintaining and promoting the education center, partial co-ordination of the youth groups for the environment forum.
Coordinating young volunteers
Coordinating weekly volunteering day in NGOs’ and accompanying the volunteers at each stage
Planning and executing educational programs for the Civil Service team and the activists
Recruiting applicants and starting the screening and training process for the 2005-2006 activity year.
