ככל שנדע לעשות יותר דברים בעצמנו, נהייה יותר משוחררים מכבליה של תרבות הצריכה. לקראת היום הבינלאומי החופשי מקניות, סדנאות "עשה זאת בעצמך" :
11:00 - איך עושים סבון משמן זית . סדנא מעשית בהנחיית מירה ואיה זמיר
13:00 - איך מוציאים פאנזין . סדנא על הכנת פאנזינים, כולל סקירת פאנזינים מהארץ ומהעולם. בהנחיית איתמר בן זקן ומולי יחבס.

ארוחת ערב טבעונית כמשל: מאיפה משתין הטופו-דג בכל הנוגע לצרכנות מוסרית.

מסיק הסחר ההוגן הראשון.

למרות השעה הבעייתית לרובנו (6:30 בבוקר של יום שבת), הצלחנו להקים עצמנו מהמיטות הנוחות ולצאת באוטובוס למסיק זיתים בכפר מסחה, הממוקם בגדה המערבית.

95% מהאדמות החקלאיות המשמשות לפרנסתם של תושבי הכפר, הופקעו לטובת בניית חומת ההפרדה.

כחלק מפרוייקט 'סחר הוגן' של 'פעולה ירוקה', הוחלט לשווק מוצרי- 'סחר הוגן' מקומיים (שמן זית מכפר מסחה באופן התחלתי) שיענו על הסטנדרטים הבינלאומיים, מתוך שאיפה לתמיכה הוגנת בפרנסתם ומחייתם של האוכלוסייה הפלסטינית המוחלשת כיום.

לפני כשבועיים התחלנו לפרסם את המסיק כחלק מפרוייקט 'סחר הוגן', ולמרות שהמסיקים רבים בתקופה זו, והדחיפות לכפרים נוספים עומדת מנגד, שמחנו למצוא כ- 30 מתנדבים מלאי מרץ ורצון טוב שבאו לתמוך בו ולהשקיע מזמנם וזיעתם.

הפרוייקט פועל ליצירת מודעות לסיפור שמאחורי המוצר, לבניית אלטרנטיבה מסחרית בארץ ל"סחר החופשי" המנוכר כדי שנוכל לבחור בעצמנו, בתור צרכנים ובני- אנוש אילו מוצרים אנו באמת רוצים לקנות.

רונלד ואני, סיכום אירועי יום נגד מקדולנדס 16.10.2004

את היום התחלנו בהתמקמות בגינת שינקין, יחד עם מוכרי הכלבים למיניהם.

דוכנים הוקמו, באנרים נתלו,גלריות הוצגו והשמחה הייתה גדולה. בפעילות הועלו מסרים מגוונים – החל בהתנגדות לניצול העובדים במקדולנדס ועד הרס כדור הארץ ופגיעה בבעלי חיים. הוצגה גם אלטרנטיבה לתרבות המזון המהיר: מתכונים שחילקנו עוררו התלהבות רבה בקרב הציבור שהתעכב לתהות על קנקננו וחברי "אוכל במקום פצצות" הכינו והגישו לכל המעוניין ארוחת גורמה טבעונית.

מאוחר יותר יצאנו להפגין מול סניף מקדונלדס ברחוב שינקין וחסמנו בחינניות את הכביש. נדמה כי חוץ ממנהל הסניף כולם יצאו מרוצים.

הפסטיבל לאקטיביזם מציב מודל אלטרנטיבי לחברה האזרחית הקיימת, תוך התנגדות ברורה ומוצהרת למצב הקיים בארץ. הפסטיבל הנו כלי לביסוסה של קהילה לשינוי חברתי בישראל. קהילה שבה ארגונים חברתיים תורמים, נתרמים אחד על ידי השני ונרתמים למען מטרות משותפות. קהילה שפועלת כנגד תכתיבי העליתה השלטת ונאבקת למען זכויותיה וזכויות תושבי האיזור.

דרוש/ה מדריכ/ה ללימוד פרמקלצ'ר בבית ספר במושב בני ציון בימי ד' וה' החל מחודש נומבר ועד סוף שנת הלימודים.

תכנית הלימודים שנקראת "להחזיק אדמה" נכתבה על ידי שי שחל ויעל תדהר המהוללים. התכנית מומלת על ידי הרשת הירוקה וזכתה אפילו לאישורו של משרד החינוך.

למדריכ/ה יסופקו המערכים וחומרי עזר וכן תמיכה וליווי לאורך השנה.

Youth Groups Activities

The long awaited Green Action youth groups have opened. The groups will include discussion and action, meeting once a week in several cities.

The Kfar-Saba group meets at the youth center (by Arim mall) on Tuesdays at 16:00.
The opening event, including a movie and discussion will take place at the youth center on the 11/11, Thursday, at 19:00.

The first Fair Trade Olive Harvest

Despite the problematic hour for most of us (6:30 on Saturday morning), we managed to drag ourselves from the comfortable beds and leave on a bus to harvest olives in Maskha village, located in the west bank. 95% of the agricultural land used to support the village inhabitants, has been possessed for the sake of the separation wall.

As part of the Green Action Fair Trade campaign, we decided to market local fair trade products (olive oil from Maskha for starters), living up to international stanards, with the ambition to fairly support the income and livelihood of the weakened Palestinian population today.

About two weeks ago we began publishing the harvest as part of the Fair Trade campaign, and despite the multitude of harvests this time of year, and the urgency of other villages harvests, we were glad to find about 30 volunteers inspired by goodwill and energy, who came to support the project and invest their time and sweat in it.

The project acts to raise awareness to the story behind the product, to the forming of a commercial alternative in israel for the alienated free trade, so we can make our own choices, as consumers and humans, which products we really want to buy.

Ronald and I, Anti-McDonalds Day Summary of Events 16/10/04

We began the day by locationing in Sheinkin park, along with various park characters. Stands stood, banners were hung, galleries presented and the festivities were great. The activites raised varied topics-from opposition to worker exploitation in McDonalds to the destruction of the earth and harm to animals. An alternative was also offered: recipes we handed out to the great interest of the public, stopping to ponder on the meaning of it all, and the members of Food not Bombs prepared and served anyone interested a gormet vegan meal.

Later we rallied in front of the McDonalds branch in Sheinkin st. and blocked traffic gingerly. It appeared everyone was pleased but the branch manager.

Coordinator Needed for the Fourth Activism Festival

The activism festival sets an alternative model to the existing civil society, whilst resisting obviously and statedly to the existing situation. The festival is a tool for forming a social change community in Israel. A community in which social organisations contribute, are contributed by each other and join in common objectives. A community working against the dictations of the ruling elite and fighting for its rights and the rights of its areas inhabitants.

the offered position: assistance in speakership to the project- including speakership and lobbying in front of local press and local authorities, on the environmental and social damages of billboards, as a direct continuation to the Everet associates activities in the past years. The organisation is interested in a student of media and speakership, or a public manager, with the ability to initiate and lead work with various institutes. Familiarity with local authorities and their manner of management is wanted.

Job Offers and Voluntary Work for Professional and Amateur Permaculturists

A guide needed for permaculture studies in a school in Bnei Tzion moshav, on Wednesdays and Thursdays starting on November and to the end of the schoolyear.
The program called Holding Land was written by the famed Shay Shahal and Yael Tidhar. The program is recommended by the green network and has even been approved by the Board of Education. The guide will be supplied with materials and blueprints, as well as accompanyment and support throughout the year.
